Condition & Size Guide
How to read our condition grades
We grade every bag after restoration, so the grade describes what will arrive at your door — not what the bag looked like when we found it.
| Grade | What it means |
|---|---|
| Like New | Fully restored. No visible signs of previous use. |
| Excellent | Minor marks, visible only if you look closely. |
| Good | Light honest wear — a corner rub, slight fading, small mark. |
| Character | Clear wear that we have not hidden. Fully functional, priced lower. |
How to read our measurements
Bag sizes are not standardised, so we ignore labels and measure every bag ourselves. Every product page lists:
- Length — widest point across the base, in inches.
- Height — base to the top of the bag, excluding handles.
- Width — front to back at the deepest point.
- Strap drop — from the top of the strap to the top of the bag. This is the number that tells you whether it will sit on your shoulder or under your arm.
- Fits — in plain words, what the bag actually holds.
A quick trick before you order
Take the length and height from the product page and mark them out on a sheet of paper. Bags almost always look bigger on a screen than they are in your hand, and two minutes with a ruler prevents most disappointments.
Still not sure?
Message us with the bag you are looking at and what you need it to carry. We will go and measure it again, and tell you honestly if it will not work.
